Boué Bora - Medes Islands

Boué Bora is our kind of dive. It’s got that classic Medes feel, but with a surprising amount of drama. We love that it's easy enough for newer divers to feel comfortable, but there’s enough going on to keep experienced eyes busy, too. Drop down and you’ll find yourself in a playful landscape of rocks and sand. Keep your eyes peeled for those shy bastard soles, their flat bodies almost disappearing into the seabed, or the intricate patterns of a spotted dragonet, usually hunkered down near a rocky outcrop. Our favourite time to dive Boué Bora is early morning; the light filters down beautifully, making the green wrasse and ornate wrasse pop with colour as they dart through the Posidonia. You’ll often spot common cuttlefish here, too, masters of camouflage, sometimes flashing their iridescent skin patterns as you swim past. It’s a great spot for macro enthusiasts, but equally enjoyable for those who just want to glide along and soak it all in. Boué Bora feels like a proper escape, a gentle dive that delivers plenty of small wonders.
