Club d'Escafandrisme Sasba - Medes Islands

Sasba, near Meda Gran, has always been a solid pick for us in the Medes, especially when a bit of shelter is needed from the prevailing swell. We love starting the dive in the canyon, feeling that slight surge push you gently along, past the red gorgonians that glow even in the muted light. It’s here you often spot those elegant cuttlefish, moving with such grace, or a curious curled octopus peering out from a crevice. The dive then opens onto a rocky slope. Keep an eye out for Red Band-fish here; they're surprisingly vibrant against the grey rock. The sandy patches hold their own secrets, often revealing Atlantic Stargazers half-buried, just their eyes peeking out. We’d suggest focusing on the smaller details here; the poor cod flitting about, or the blenny darting into a hole. This site is best for divers who appreciate the subtler beauty of the Med, those who enjoy a relaxed pace and a good search. It’s not about huge pelagics, but rather the rich, vibrant tapestry of Mediterranean life you can only find when you slow down and look closely.
