Dolfi Sud - Medes Islands

Dolfi Sud is the quiet cousin to some of the Medes Islands' more famous sites, and we love it for exactly that reason. Head down the mooring line and you’ll often find yourself alone, drifting over rock formations that feel ancient. We usually find the conditions here agreeable, making it a good spot for a relaxed dive, but keep an eye on the thermocline – it can drop a few degrees pretty quickly. The real draw here is the chance to slow down and really look. You won’t find huge schools of pelagics, but the rock cracks and sandy patches are absolutely bursting with smaller, fascinating creatures. We’ve spent entire dives peering under ledges for the shy Atlantic Stargazer, or watching a Marbled Goby dart between pebbles. The Curled octopus here are particularly bold, and if you’re patient, you might spot an Angler camouflaged perfectly against the bottom. Don't forget to scan the sand for Greater Weever, too – they're masters of disguise. This site is perfect for photographers and anyone who prefers a tranquil dive over a bustling reef.
