el Rossinyol - Medes Islands

El Rossinyol, in the Medes Islands, is one of our favourite spots for a reason. It's not the deepest dive, but the sheer density of life here is something else. You descend into a reef face that just buzzes with activity. We've often found ourselves hovering, watching schools of black sea bream swirl around us, while grey gurnard poke through the sand nearby. Keep an eye out for the Rufus Snake Eel, a real treat to spot, often half-hidden in the crevices. What truly makes El Rossinyol special is the interaction between the rock formations and the fish life. The way the light filters through the water, illuminating patches of the reef, makes everything feel alive. We always suggest taking it slow here, letting your eyes adjust, and you'll start picking out things like the Light-bulb sea squirt or a cunning Common octopus tucked into a crevice. It’s a fantastic dive for photographers and anyone who appreciates a vibrant, dynamic Mediterranean reef.
