ETYLENE (FWD PART) - Medes Islands

The forward section of the *Etylene* offers a surprisingly rich shallow dive, proving you don't need depth for character. At a maximum of five meters, it’s a brilliant choice for a long bottom time, or even a snorkel with a good pair of lungs. We love how the bow points seaward, its hull now a rough, encrusted canvas for sponges and hydroids. Schools of juvenile barracuda often hang around the structure, shimmering in the sun, while moray eels peek from shadowy crevices. For a wreck this shallow, it’s remarkably atmospheric, especially when a gentle current sways the gorgonians that have taken root. Come in the late afternoon; the low sun casts long shadows and brings out the vibrant colours of the encrusting life. It’s a site that rewards slow, deliberate exploration, perfect for photographers or anyone wanting to relax into a dive.
