G.P.E.S. - Medes Islands

G.P.E.S. is one of those Mediterranean dives we keep coming back to. Drop down and you’re immediately enveloped in the sheer density of it all. Schools of salema shimmer like liquid chrome, and the sheer number of damsel fish is genuinely startling; they just blanket the rocks. It’s the kind of site where you want to go slow, poke around, and properly absorb the details. We love the walls here, particularly where the red coral catches the light, a deep, rich hue against the blues. Keep your eyes peeled for the little guys – we’ve had good luck spotting red snapping shrimp tucked into crevices and those fascinating sand masons building their tubes. If you're patient, you might even catch a glimpse of the Glycerine Worm, a real treat. This site is fantastic for macro photographers or anyone who just enjoys a relaxed dive with plenty to discover. Our tip? Go in the morning before any afternoon breezes kick up and make the boat ride choppier.
