Grotte Mystérieuse - Medes Islands

Grotte Mystérieuse. The name alone hints at something special, and this cave dive absolutely delivers. We love how the light plays inside; it's not a dark, spooky hole, but more of a shimmering sapphire cathedral. You’ll swim through schools of blotched picarel, their scales catching the torch beam, and often spot common cuttlefish camouflaged against the rocks. The feeling of gliding through that cool, clear water, surrounded by walls of bushy coral and Mediterranean tapeweed, is really something. Keep an eye out for the resident rockfish, often tucked into crevices, and we’ve even seen thornback skates cruising the sandy bottom just outside the entrance. It's a dive that rewards a slow pace, letting your eyes adjust and soak in the atmosphere. This site suits divers comfortable in overhead environments who appreciate subtle beauty over dramatic pelagics.
