Impérial de Terre - Medes Islands

Impérial de Terre, for us, is one of those Medes Islands spots that just *feels* right. We love the way the reef starts shallow, then gradually slopes down, hitting some interesting topography around 20 metres. You’ll weave through big rock formations, keeping an eye out for the resident garrupa – chunky, territorial fish that often just eye you up from a metre away. Look into the cracks and you'll spot red snapping shrimp waving their antennae. Our favourite part has to be the quieter sections, where you can slow down and really appreciate the smaller things: beadlet anemones clinging to the rock face, or maybe even a streaked gurnard kicking up sand with its fins. Visibility here can vary, but on a good day, the light filters through beautifully, making those schools of rockfish shimmer. It’s a site that rewards patience and a keen eye, perfect for a relaxed dive where you want to properly absorb the Mediterranean vibe.
