Impérial du Milieu - Medes Islands

Impérial du Milieu is one of our favourite dives in the Medes Islands. We've always found something interesting here, even on a slow day. Dropping down, you’re often greeted by schools of glinting axillary sea-bream, a real silver curtain. Look closely at the rocks and you’ll spot colourful nudibranchs, maybe even a tiny, quirky Butterfly blenny peeking out. We love to drift along the wall, keeping an eye out for Black coral. It’s not flashy, but the sheer density of life here is remarkable. You’ll see red mullet foraging in the sand, and if you’re patient, you might spot a Cuckoo Skate resting on the bottom. What really makes Impérial du Milieu special is the way the light plays through the deeper sections, catching the Red coral. It’s a photographer’s dream, and we often find ourselves spending extra time just watching the quiet drama unfold. This site is perfect for divers who appreciate spotting the smaller stuff, those who like to take their time and truly observe. Just be mindful of other dive groups, as it can get a bit busy during peak season.
