Ker-Bihan - Medes Islands

Ker-Bihan. Even the name sounds a bit mysterious, doesn't it? This is one of our favourite spots in the Medes Islands, a place that, frankly, punches above its weight. We love it because it’s a dive that rewards slow exploration. You won’t find dramatic drop-offs here, but instead, a maze of rocks and gullies that feel like you’re exploring an ancient, submerged city. Keep your eyes peeled. We’ve had incredible encounters with triggerfish here, often hovering curiously as you pass. Look into the cracks and under ledges for the shy Mediterranean beadlet anemones, their tentacles retracting at the slightest disturbance. The real joy is spotting the smaller, more unusual stuff: we’ve seen spotted dragonets flitting over the sand and even a camouflaged black-bellied angler if you’re lucky enough to spot its lure. The green wrasse are practically residents, bold and colourful, and the bushy coral adds a splash of unexpected texture to the rocky landscape. Diving Ker-Bihan often means a gentle drift, letting the slight current guide you through the formations. It’s a site that truly suits the keen observer, the diver who finds beauty in the subtle details rather than the big pelagics.
