Les Quairolles - Medes Islands

Les Quairolles? Oh, we love Les Quairolles. It's not the deepest site out there, but it always delivers something interesting. For us, it’s all about the topography – those intricate rock formations, swim-throughs, and little caves. You can spend a whole dive just exploring the cracks and crevices, spotting critters tucked away. We’ve found everything from shy octopus peeking out to moray eels slithering through the shadows. What really sells us on Les Quairolles, though, is the light. On a sunny day, the way the light filters down through the water, bouncing off the rocks, creates these incredible ethereal beams. It’s absolutely captivating. We'd suggest going in the morning; the light is usually at its best then, and the boat traffic is a bit lighter. It’s a site that suits divers who appreciate detailed exploration over big pelagics, though we have seen a few moonfish cruise by on occasion. Keep an eye out for the smaller stuff, too – the nudibranchs here can be quite vibrant.
