Les Veyrons - Medes Islands

Les Veyrons is a bit of a chameleon, often overlooked for the flashier neighbours at Medes, but we think it’s a real standout when the conditions are right. We love to drop in early, before the crowds, and cruise along the wall. You’ll spot groups of white seabream ghosting through the water, and the smaller crevices are packed with Mediterranean beadlet anemones, their tentacles waving. The real draw here, for us, are the deeper sections where the garrupa sometimes hang out, blending into the rock. Keep an eye on the sand flats too; we've seen streaked gurnards fanning their fins, and on a lucky day, a sea horse clinging to some posidonia. The visibility can vary, but on a good day, the light plays beautifully through the water, illuminating the corkwing wrasse darting between rocks. It’s not a thrill-a-minute dive, but it’s fantastic for those who appreciate a slower pace and the reward of really looking closely. It’s perfect for photographers or anyone who enjoys a peaceful Mediterranean exploration.
