Pierre de Briancon - Medes Islands

Pierre de Briancon is one of those Mediterranean dives we always recommend when someone asks for a bit of everything. It’s got drama, it’s got critters, and it’s a site that really comes alive when you slow down and look closely. We love dropping down to find the rocky slopes covered in Devonshire cup corals, their orange polyps a splash of colour against the grey. Keep an eye out for curious wrasse darting between the rocks, and if you’re patient, you might spot an Atlantic stargazer peeking out from the sand – they’re masters of camouflage. Our favourite part is exploring the nooks and crannies where you often find seahorses clinging to Mediterranean tapeweed. We've also had luck here spotting various nudibranchs, like Alder’s Necklace Shell, tucked away in crevices. It's a dive that rewards macro enthusiasts but also offers plenty for those who enjoy the wider landscape. Dive it in the late morning when the sun’s high, it really brings out the colours.
