Pierre fendue - Medes Islands

Pierre fendue on the Medes Islands is one of those Mediterranean sites that just keeps giving. The name, "Split Rock," tells you exactly what to expect: a huge rock formation cleaved down the middle, creating a swim-through that’s become our favourite on the island. We’ve found ourselves drifting through its narrow opening, feeling the slight current push us along, schools of Damsel fish parting just enough for us to squeeze past. We love the light play here; sunbeams pierce the surface, dappling the rock walls with shifting patterns. Keep an eye out for the Pink Sea Fans clinging to the deeper sections, their delicate structures swaying gently. This spot always seems to have something new, from the occasional Garrupa lurking in the shadows to the more common snappers patrolling the periphery. It's a dive that rewards slow exploration, best for those who appreciate the subtle beauty of a well-formed gully.
