Rabiou, La Cathédrale - Medes Islands

Rabiou, or La Cathédrale as we know it, is one of those Medes Islands dives that really sticks with you. You drop down, and almost immediately you’re greeted by these massive rock formations, sculpted over millennia. It’s a cathedral in every sense, with light filtering through the overhead cracks like stained glass windows. We love finning through the swim-throughs here, especially the main one where the light play is just phenomenal. You’ll often find pink sea fans clinging to the walls, and if you look closely, little cowfish darting in and out of the crevices. It’s not a site for spotting big pelagics, though the dolphins do pass through the area occasionally, but it’s fantastic for feeling immersed in a truly unique underwater landscape. The currents can pick up a bit outside the main structure, so keep an eye on the surge. We’d suggest going early in the morning before the dive boats really start arriving; it makes a huge difference to the tranquility inside.
