Tombant des pharillons - Medes Islands

Tombant des Pharillons, now this is a site we’ll always make time for when we're in the Medes. Forget the crowds at some of the other spots; Pharillons has that genuine, wild feeling. The wall here is just… dramatic. It drops away to 35 metres, covered in those deep red gorgonians that look like ancient fans, swaying gently in the surge. We’ve had some cracking dives here, often spotting good-sized dusky groupers patrolling the deeper sections, their scales shimmering as they catch the light. Keep an eye out for smaller critters too. We’ve seen anglerfish tucked into crevices and, on a lucky dive, even a seahorse clinging to a bit of seagrass near the top of the reef. The visibility is usually very good here, letting you appreciate the sheer scale of the drop-off. It’s a great dive for anyone who loves a good wall, and if you’re comfortable with a bit of depth, you’ll find plenty to explore. Just be mindful of currents, they can pick up, especially further out from the wall.
