Tombant des Sardinaux - Medes Islands

Tombant des Sardinaux is our choice when we want a proper wall dive in the Medes Islands. You drop straight onto a vertical face, usually around 20 metres, and the immediate sensation is one of being suspended over a deep blue void. It’s dramatic. We particularly love the sections where the rock is completely carpeted in pink sea fans, they just glow in your torch beam, and you’ll often spot lobsters tucked into the crevices there. Keep an eye out for snapper patrolling the current, and don’t forget to check the smaller holes for red snapping shrimp. The wall continues down past recreational limits, but the sweet spot for activity is shallower, between 15 and 25 metres. It’s a site that really rewards a slow drift, letting the current carry you along the face while you scan for movement. Ideal for divers comfortable with depth and current, it delivers that classic Mediterranean wall experience.
