Tunnel de planne - Medes Islands

The Medes Islands always deliver, and Tunnel de Planne is one of those dives that sticks with you. It’s an easy entry, dropping down into the first section where the light still plays on the walls. We’ve found the best approach is to take your time, letting your eyes adjust as you move further in. The real magic happens once you’re fully inside; it’s a properly atmospheric dive. Keep an eye out for dusky groupers hanging in the shadows – they’re fairly bold here. We’ve often seen big schools of salema swirling at the tunnel’s opening, catching the light as they move. It’s a genuinely peaceful dive, the kind where you can really slow your breathing and just absorb the quiet. The red mullets often cruise the sandy patches just outside, and on a good day, the moonfish might put on a show in the bluer water. We’d suggest going early to avoid the crowds, as it’s a popular spot for a reason. Definitely a standout for its unique character.
