Wrack 'Tantine' - Medes Islands

The Wrack ‘Tantine’ is one of our favourites in the Medes Islands. Not just because it’s a proper wreck, a little tugboat that sank in the 70s, but because of how the Mediterranean has completely reclaimed it. We love dropping down and seeing the hull draped in bushy coral, the light filtering through the water, making the whole scene glow. You'll find common octopus tucked into every crevice, eyes watching you, and congers often poke their heads out from deeper within the structure. For such a relatively small wreck, it’s remarkably atmospheric, offering plenty to poke around without being overwhelming. We'd suggest getting there early in the morning for the best visibility, before the day boats stir up the sediment. It's a dive that really suits those who appreciate the quiet beauty of a wreck slowly dissolving into its environment.
