P. MARJAANA - Baltic Coast

The P. MARJAANA isn't just a dive site, it’s a time capsule. We think it’s one of the best Baltic wrecks for divers who appreciate history and an almost spooky stillness. She’s shallow, sitting at 15 metres, which means decent bottom time and often surprising visibility for the region. You drop onto this old tugboat, a compact but incredibly complete structure that feels like it could still chug along if someone fired up the engines. We love exploring her bridge, still mostly intact. You can push your head through what was once a window, picturing the crew at work. The prop is still there, too, an imposing piece of machinery resting in the sand. Little crabs scuttle across the hull, and we’ve seen some decent-sized cod lurking in the shadows, looking for an easy meal. This isn’t a colourful reef, but the greys and greens of the Baltic have their own stark beauty, especially with the way the light filters down through the surface. It’s a site that rewards slow exploration, perfect for those who enjoy a contemplative dive rather than a high-speed chase after pelagics. Just remember, it’s an old wreck, so good buoyancy is key to avoid stirring up the fine silt inside.
