SOKAREN - Baltic Coast
Sokaren, a military vessel resting at 43 meters on the Baltic seabed, offers a different kind of dive. The ship’s frame is largely intact, a somber, silent structure that’s slowly been claimed by the Baltic’s unique environment. We like to explore the deck, imagining its past life, while keeping an eye out for the small sculpins and blennies that have made the wreck their home. This site really suits divers who appreciate history and the quiet beauty of a cold-water wreck, where the focus is on atmosphere and the slow reclamation of man-made objects by nature. You won't find tropical colours here, but a fascinating glimpse into the past.
