GLORY II (POSSIBLY) - Kas & Kekova

Okay, so the GLORY II is a bit of a local legend, even if her full story remains a little murky. What we know for sure is she’s a big old motor vessel, built in ‘44, and she ended her days burning then being towed to Kekova Island. The wreck itself is shallow, topping out at 5m, which means anyone can get a good look. We’re talking easy shore access, minimal current, and the kind of visibility that lets you appreciate her scale. You’ll find her mostly broken up now, a testament to time and fire, but her bulk still provides plenty of nooks and crannies for fish. Expect to see schools of damselfish flitting through what remains of the superstructure, and we’ve often spotted octopus tucked into the deeper, shaded sections. The metal plates, encrusted with algae and sponges, have become a habitat for nudibranchs if you look closely enough. It's a fantastic spot for snorkelers and newer divers keen to explore a piece of history without the pressures of depth or strong currents. Our pick for a relaxed afternoon dive, maybe with a camera in hand, trying to capture the eerie silence of a ship brought low.
