Paris Wreck - Kas & Kekova

We’ve dived a few wrecks around Kas, but the Paris always pulls us back. Dropping onto her bow at around 20 metres, the ship lies listing to port, her deck guns still pointing towards the surface. It’s an evocative dive, especially when the sun shafts through the water, illuminating the bridge area where schools of barracuda often hover, their silver scales catching the light. She sank in 1917, an old French cargo ship pressed into military service, and that history really adds to the atmosphere. We love tracing the deck, ducking into the cargo holds where light pours in from above, revealing scattered amphorae and old bottles. Keep an eye out for moray eels tucked into crevices, and our favourite, the resident grouper that often hangs out near the stern. You can penetrate some of the larger holds, but we’d suggest sticking to the main deck and superstructure unless you’re experienced with wreck diving. It’s a site that rewards multiple visits, each time revealing a new detail.
