ARIAN - Cornwall & Devon
The Arian, a small sailing vessel, found its resting place in 1972 after hitting a shingle bank and losing her mast. What’s left is a 6.1m wreck, very much broken up and spread across the seabed, but still distinct enough to trace out her original form. At just a meter deep, it’s less a dive and more a snorkel, but for those keen on exploring a shallow wreck in Cornish waters, it offers a glimpse into a piece of local maritime history. We’ve found blennies tucked into crevices and small crabs scuttling over the scattered timbers. It’s perfect for a calm day, perhaps as a relaxed warm-up or cool-down.
