EAST POINT - Cornwall & Devon

East Point is a deep, dramatic wreck that we always look forward to diving, assuming the conditions are playing ball. She’s a cruiser, torpedoed in 1917, and sits upright in a hefty 60 metres, making her a serious technical dive. What we love about East Point is how intact she remains. You can still make out the superstructure, the deck gear, and the sheer scale of a vessel designed for transatlantic passages. There’s a real sense of history down there, a quiet stillness unique to these deep wrecks. Visibility can be excellent, especially in early autumn, letting you appreciate the full length of the ship. We've seen conger eels poking out from every nook and cranny, and often find dogfish resting on the sand nearby. It’s a site for experienced technical divers, those comfortable with deep stops and extended bottom times. The reward is a genuinely immersive experience on a substantial piece of maritime history. If you catch it on a good day, the sense of exploration is second to none.
