Plymouth Diving Centre - Cornwall & Devon
The team at Plymouth Diving Centre really gets what diving in the UK is all about: solid training, good gear, and a friendly face no matter the weather. We love that they’re a full PADI 5 Star IDC Resort, which means you can pretty much start as a total newbie and come out an instructor, all with the same familiar crew. They specialise in getting you comfortable and competent in cooler waters, which is a real testament to their teaching. If you’re looking to dive locally, build serious skills, or even kickstart a dive career without leaving Blighty, this is your spot. We've always found their instructors patient and thorough, something you really appreciate when visibility drops or a bit of current picks up. Our favourite thing about diving with them is their access to the local wrecks, particularly in Plymouth Sound. Descending into that green, silty embrace to find an old trawler or a warship is a proper adventure. You feel the chill of the water, then the excitement as shapes emerge from the gloom – the ghostly outline of a mast, the dark maw of a companionway. They often run trips out to some of the deeper sites too, perfect for advanced divers looking to put their training to use. They’re excellent at helping you navigate the sometimes-tricky logistics of UK diving, making sure you’re properly briefed and kitted out. A proper, no-nonsense dive centre for proper diving.
