The Edenwood offers a proper old-school wreck dive, a Christmas Day sinking from 1939 that’s now thoroughly settled on the seabed. She’s shallow, only 14 metres, so you get plenty of bottom time to really snoop around. We love poking through the debris field; you can still make out the general shape of the cargo holds and some machinery, but it’s all delightfully encrusted. Think bright orange soft corals, dead man's fingers, and anemones clinging to every surface. This is a great spot for photographers who enjoy macro life, as the nooks and crannies hold all sorts of critters. Look for crabs scuttling under plates of steel and various gobies peeking out from behind a growth of hydroids. We’ve had some fantastic dives here in calmer conditions, especially on a neap tide when the current isn’t quite so frisky. Visibility can be a bit hit or miss in the English Channel, but even in 5-metre vis, the wreck has enough character to keep you engaged. It’s a solid wreck dive for divers comfortable with colder water and a bit of silty bottom.
