ESTRELITA (PROBABLY) - Cornwall & Devon

The Estrelita, or what we’re pretty sure is the Estrelita, is a fantastic dive for a shallow wreck in Cornish waters. She’s a trawler, about 15 metres long, sunk back in '75, and now she’s completely broken up. You won't find an intact hull here, more a scattering of ribs and plating, but that’s precisely her charm. We love poking around the debris field. The twisted metal, now covered in colourful jewel anemones, creates so many little hidey-holes. You'll often spot squat lobsters tucked into crevices and plump wrasse darting between the rusty plates. On a good day, when the sun filters through the green water, the whole site has this incredible, ethereal glow. It’s not a deep dive, maxing out at 16 metres, which means plenty of bottom time to really explore the nooks. It’s perfect for divers who enjoy a relaxed search rather than a dramatic penetration. Our pick for finding the most interesting bits? Look for the engine block; it’s usually a magnet for larger fish.
