EXCEL - Cornwall & Devon
The Excel, a sailing vessel that went down in 1925, lies scattered in the shallows off Cornwall, a very accessible dive at just 3m deep. It’s mostly broken up now, but you can still pick out timbers and the general shape of the hull, all encrusted with local anemones and a surprising number of crabs tucked into crevices. This isn't a penetration dive, but rather a chance to explore a historical wreck site that's become a thriving mini-habitat. We think it’s a great spot for newer divers getting comfortable with wreck topography, or for anyone wanting a relaxed, shallow dive with plenty of small critters to observe.
