Fossil Beds - Cornwall & Devon
Now, Fossil Beds isn't going to blow your mind with technicolor coral, but it’s a genuinely fascinating spot for something a bit different, especially if you’re newer to diving or just want a relaxed potter. At 12 metres, it’s a gentle drift over ancient geology, where you can actually spot fossilised shells and ammonites embedded in the rock. It's like an underwater treasure hunt, and we’ve found it’s a fantastic place to practice buoyancy and really slow down, examining the details. We'd suggest checking the tide times; a slack tide makes for the easiest viewing and the most comfortable dive.
