IREX - Cornwall & Devon
The IREX, a schooner that ran aground in 1890, sits in a remarkably shallow 4 metres, making it an ideal wreck dive for those new to the game or divers who prefer longer bottom times. We found her timbers spread across the seabed, creating interesting nooks and crannies for exploration. Look closely, and you’ll spot wrasse darting amongst the wreckage, with small crabs scuttling over the barnacle-encrusted remains of her hull. It’s a gentle introduction to wreck diving, particularly good for a relaxed potter when the conditions are calm.
