LADY MIRA - Cornwall & Devon

The Lady Mira isn't one of those massive, intact wrecks you can swim through for days. She’s a smaller sailing vessel, sunk in 1993 after a collision, lying at a modest 27 metres. For us, that depth is perfect for really getting to know her. You can circumnavigate the entire hull easily on a single dive, taking your time to appreciate the details. We love the way the currents here have sculpted the site, exposing various pieces of her rigging and structure from the sand. Look closely for the anchor chain disappearing into the seabed – it’s a neat little visual. The wreck itself is heavily colonised, a vibrant, living reef on an old ship. Expect to see plenty of wrasse darting in and out of the cracks, and keep an eye out for dogfish tucked away in the shadows under the bow. Our favourite part is the stern section; it’s usually where we find the biggest conger eels peering out from their hidey-holes. This is a great dive for anyone who enjoys exploring a coherent, well-established wreck without needing deep specialisation. It’s accessible, pretty, and always delivers a good time.
