LONGLEY LASS - Cornwall & Devon

The Longley Lass might be shallow, just 3 metres deep, but don't let that fool you into thinking it's boring. This isn't some generic reef dive. It’s a proper wreck, perfect for a long, relaxed dive, or even a snorkel if you’re short on air. We love how accessible it is, sitting upright on the seabed, its wooden ribs and metal plates providing plenty of nooks and crannies to poke around in. You'll find the wreck well-broken up, but with enough structure remaining to give you a real sense of its past life. Our favourite bit is exploring the bow section, often home to a surprising number of wrasse and blennies darting between the decaying timbers. It’s a fantastic spot for macro photography, too; look closely and you’ll often spot nudibranchs grazing on the algae, their vibrant colours a stark contrast to the muted tones of the wreck. This site is ideal for those days when you just want to potter around, taking your time without worrying about deco limits. It’s easy, rewarding, and a great example of how fascinating shallow wrecks can be.
