Welsh Diving - Cornwall & Devon
The team at Welsh Diving are a proper friendly bunch, based out of both Cornwall and Devon, which gives them great access to some cracking UK diving. We particularly like that they’re a PADI 5 Star IDC centre, so whether you're just dipping a fin in for the first time or aiming for instructor status, they’ve got you covered. This isn't just a place for ticking off courses though, it’s about becoming a confident, competent diver in some challenging but hugely rewarding conditions. We’ve always found their instructors have a knack for making even the chilliest UK dive feel like a grand adventure, pointing out every nudibranch and crab hiding in the kelp. While you might not get tropical colours, the wrecks and reefs here are genuinely enthralling – the way light filters through a kelp forest or illuminates an old fishing boat is truly something. Our favourite tip? Ask them about local conditions. They know the tides and currents like the back of their hand, which is crucial for getting the best out of a dive site like those around Plymouth or the Lizard. We’d suggest you pack a thick hood; the water’s bracing but the rewards are well worth it. They’re excellent for anyone looking to build serious cold water diving skills or simply enjoy the unique beauty of the British coast.
