LUIGI ACCAME - Cornwall & Devon

The Luigi Accame is a real winner for a shallow wreck in UK waters, making it one of our standout picks. Lying at just 9 metres, it’s an ideal introduction to wreck diving, particularly for those looking to get their fins wet without deep decompression obligations. You don't get the huge intact sections of some deeper wrecks, but the scattered remains are a haven for local critters. We love drifting over the hull plates and machinery, spotting pollack darting through the gaps and wrasse picking around the edges of the metalwork. The bow section, in particular, is a rewarding spot. You often find conger eels tucked into crevices, their heads peering out, and we’ve even seen the occasional octopus here. The site can get a bit silty after a storm, so we’d always suggest checking local reports or heading out on a calm day. The visibility on a good day, with sunlight filtering through, makes the green and blue hues of the Cornwall sea quite something. It's a proper British wreck dive, full of life, and just a joy to poke around.
