MIDGET 2 - Cornwall & Devon

We’ve always had a soft spot for the smaller wrecks, and the Midget 2 is a perfect example of why. This isn't some colossal liner, but a 12-meter speedboat, gone down in 1976 after a fire off the Isle of Wight. What you get here is a remarkably intact little vessel, sitting upright at 16 meters. It’s got that classic small-wreck charm, the kind where you can really get a sense of its original form, rather than just a pile of twisted metal. Dropping down onto her, we love seeing the shape of the bow and stern still so clear. It’s not a huge dive, but you can spend a good chunk of time exploring the superstructure. We’ve found conger eels tucked into the tight spaces, and the resident pollack often circle above, curious about divers. Visibility here can be a bit variable, as it often is in the UK, so pick a calm day with a good tide for the best experience. It's a fantastic training ground for newer wreck divers, giving a true wreck experience without the depth or complexity of bigger sites.
