MISTRESS QUIGLEY - Cornwall & Devon

The Mistress Quigley is a fantastic little wreck, perfect for a relaxed dive in Cornish waters. She’s a small merchant cruiser, only about ten metres long, which means you can really get to know her in a single dive. We love that she's shallow, sitting at a maximum of 16 metres, making it an excellent spot for newer divers to practice wreck penetration, or for experienced folks to extend their bottom time. When we’ve dived her, the wheelhouse is always a highlight. You can often poke your head inside, and we’ve seen conger eels curled up in corners, looking a bit grumpy. The hull is covered in jewel anemones, brilliant orange and pink, and you’ll spot gobies darting in and out of the plating. It’s not a huge wreck, so you won’t get lost, but there are plenty of nooks for crabs and lobsters to hide in. Visibility can vary, but on a good day, the light filters through the kelp growing on the mast, creating a really atmospheric scene. Our tip: go at slack tide for the easiest exploration.
