Neptune is a surprise. Usually, when we hear "3m wreck," our expectations settle around a few scattered planks. Not here. This steamship, sunk near Hill Head buoy, has surprisingly good bones for such a shallow depth. We love how the light plays on the remaining structure, illuminating the nooks and crannies where sea bass shelter. It’s perfect for a long, relaxed dive, especially if you’re into photography, with plenty of resident wrasse darting between the metalwork. The wreck itself isn't massive, but the scattered debris field tells a story. Look for the twisted davits and the boiler, often silhouetted against the dappled surface light. It’s a site that rewards patience; we've often found small conger eels tucked deep within the plates if you peek carefully. For newer divers, it’s a fantastic introduction to wreck diving without the usual depth or current concerns. Best dived on a slack tide, you get to really take your time and soak in the atmosphere.
