Portmellon - Cornwall & Devon
Portmellon is a genuinely lovely shore dive, perfect for knocking the rust off your skills or for those just starting out. At a maximum depth of 6m, it’s a calm, sheltered bay, easy to navigate and ideal for practicing buoyancy. We’ve found plenty of flatfish buried in the sand, small crabs scuttling over the rocks, and sometimes a curious dogfish cruising through. Visibility can be hit or miss, typical of Cornwall, but on a good day, it’s a peaceful spot to spend an hour underwater. It’s definitely our pick for a relaxed afternoon dip, especially if you’re new to UK diving.
