SADIE WYKEHAM (PROBABLY) - Cornwall & Devon

The Sadie Wykeham, or what we believe is the Sadie Wykeham, is a proper technical dive, and one we’ve spent a good few decompression stops thinking about. Dropping onto her at 55m, you’re hitting the thermocline, so be ready for that chill. It’s a fishing vessel, sunk in 1980 after a collision, and the wreck still holds a lot of that working boat character. We love nosing around her wheelhouse structure, imagining the last moments, though penetration here is definitely for experienced wreck divers only. What makes her standout for us isn't just the depth, it's the atmosphere. The low light, the cold water, and the way the wreck just sits there, an artificial reef on the seabed. You’ll find conger eels peering from every dark opening, and jewel anemones absolutely coating the superstructure. The deck winches are still clearly visible, draped in soft corals. It's a dive that rewards careful exploration and a good torch, perfect for those who appreciate maritime history and a challenging deep dive.
