SARGIA - Cornwall & Devon
The Sargia, a barge that sank off Calshot in 1982, offers a surprisingly solid dive in the often-turbid waters of the main channel. Despite the zero-meter depth listed in the data, it sits considerably deeper, usually around 10-15m, making it accessible for most divers. You’ll find the wreck largely intact, a nice contrast to some of the more broken-up sites in the area. We’ve seen conger eels poking out from plates and a good scattering of crabs and lobsters making themselves at home amongst the structure. Visibility can be a bit of a lottery here, but on a good day, it’s a rewarding exploration for those looking for a bit of history beneath the waves.
