SEA GAY - Cornwall & Devon
The Sea Gay, an 11.6-meter fishing vessel, rests at 34 meters just south of Dodman Point. She went down in November 1977 after developing a leak in strong winds, and now sits upright on a sandy seabed. For divers, it’s a solid penetration dive; the stern is still intact, and you can explore the wheelhouse and engine room if you’re comfortable with overhead environments. Expect to find conger eels tucked into dark corners, pollack cruising overhead, and plenty of plumose anemones clinging to the superstructure. It’s a good choice for experienced wreck divers looking for a deeper, more intimate exploration of a Cornish fishing boat.
