SEAGULL - Cornwall & Devon
The Seagull, a tug that went down back in 1896, rests at a shallow five meters near Men Hyr Rock. It’s a good spot for newer wreck divers or those looking for a relaxed potter around a piece of history. What's left of the vessel is pretty broken up, but you can still make out the general shape of a steam tug, with ribs and plates scattered across the seabed. Over a century underwater means it’s completely grown over, a rough tangle of anemones and hydroids, with pollack and wrasse darting in and out of the metalwork. If you’re looking for a quick, interesting dive that doesn’t demand too much depth or deco, the Seagull delivers a slice of maritime heritage and some decent fish life.
