SEVAN - Cornwall & Devon
The Sevan, a 6.1m cabin cruiser, went down in 1995 just off the River Yealm. It’s a shallow dive, barely a metre deep at high tide, so more of a snorkel or free-dive exploration, really. We found it’s become a surprisingly busy little artificial reef, covered in kelp and frequented by curious wrasse and crabs scuttling over the remains of the hull. You can’t exactly penetrate the wreck, but it’s a good spot for beginners getting comfortable around an actual sunken vessel. The real draw here is seeing how quickly nature reclaims things, even small ones.
