SEVERN TRANSPORT - Cornwall & Devon
The Severn Transport, a steamship that met its end in 1941 after hitting a mine, now rests at a very manageable 15 meters. It’s a good spot for a relaxed wreck dive. What's left of her structure forms a home for plenty of local critters – think plump crabs tucked into crevices and small schools of wrasse darting through the fractured hull plates. We find the relatively shallow depth means you get good bottom time, perfect for really poking around the scattered debris and getting a feel for the ship’s past. Visibility can be typical for the area, so pick a calm day if you can.
