T’pot, off the coast of Cornwall, is a pretty gentle introduction to UK diving, and we often recommend it for those just getting their fins wet in temperate waters. At a consistent 17 meters, it’s an easy depth to manage, and the bottom is usually a mix of sand and scattered boulders. You’ll generally find a good number of spider crabs clambering about, and the occasional dogfish tucked away. It’s not a dramatic wall dive, but it’s a solid spot for beginners to practice buoyancy and get comfortable, especially on a calm day.
