    StandoutExceptional marine biodiversity

Diving the U1195 off Cornwall is a proper UK wreck dive, dark and moody, just how we like them. It’s a Type VIIC U-boat, sunk in 1945, and she’s mostly intact, lying on her side. You can still make out the conning tower and the torpedo tubes, which is always a thrill. Expect plenty of squat lobsters tucked into every crevice, plus wrasse and pollock darting through the superstructure. It's a dive for those who appreciate history and the atmosphere of a cold water wreck, rather than a vibrant reef. A good dive when the visibility cooperates, which can be hit or miss with these deeper wrecks.

    Safety Notes

Wreck site - avoid penetration without wreck diving certification. Watch for sharp metal and entanglement hazards.
