Wreck of Grace Dieu

The *Grace Dieu* isn't your typical metal hulk, and that's precisely why we love it. This isn't a dive where you're penetrating cabins; it's an archaeological journey back to 1418, an English warship lost to fire in 1439. What you find here are the preserved timbers, a remarkable testament to early shipbuilding. We’re talking about huge, dark wooden ribs emerging from the seabed, often draped in kelp, giving the whole site an almost organic feel. Visibility can be a Cornish lottery, but on a good day, the scale of these timbers is impressive, creating shadowy canyons where conger eels lurk, and schools of pilchard dart past. Look closely among the wreckage; you’ll spot native oysters, beadlet anemones, and plenty of dogfish snuffling around for an easy meal. This dive suits those who appreciate history as much as marine life, divers who enjoy a more contemplative experience rather than high-speed drifts. We'd suggest timing your dive for slack water to really take your time exploring the details. It's a genuinely unique site.
