YONDI - Cornwall & Devon
The Yondi, a 7.3-meter yacht that went down in 1993, sits at a decent 45 meters off the Cornwall coast. It’s not a huge wreck, but we find these smaller vessels often offer a more intimate dive. You can get a good sense of its original shape, now well-colonised by plumose anemones and a scattering of encrusting sponges. While you won't be penetrating, there are usually plenty of fish sheltering around the structure – expect pollack, bib, and sometimes a dogfish tucked away. It's a nice, straightforward dive for those comfortable with deeper UK conditions, more about the atmosphere and the life that takes hold than massive scale.
