EXCEL - Northumberland & Northeast

The *Excel*, a supply vessel that foundered on passage in 1927, lies at 38m, a rewarding dive for those comfortable with deeper wrecks. We’ve found her to be a solid example of Northumberland’s wreck diving, with plenty of structural integrity remaining for exploration. Expect to see her engine room and hold, often silhouetted by torchlight, and we’ve regularly spotted resident lobsters tucked into her hull plates. It’s a dive that rewards careful navigation and good buoyancy, a proper northern wreck without being overly challenging.
